General Overview

Jetwing Yala, opened in 2013, is a stylish and modern 80-bedroom hotel spread across 38 acres of parklands and woodlands. The hotel is designed to blend seamlessly into its natural surroundings. Jetwing Yala offers luxurious accommodation and a tranquil setting. Rise early and set off on a jeep safari in search of wild elephants, sloth bear, mugger crocodiles and the elusive leopard. Once back at the hotel, relax by the poolside and indulge in authentic local cuisine. Families with children are welcome.


Accommodation is in 80 well-appointed Deluxe Rooms opening out to a private terrace or balcony. There is also a spacious Family Suite with sitting and dining facilities. All rooms are equipped with a/c, overhead fans, IDD telephone, mini-bar, tea/coffee facility, satellite TV, wifi internet, electronic safe, bathrobe and slippers, and ensuite bathrooms with h/w showers. Baby cots and DVD players are available upon request. 10 Deluxe rooms have wheelchair access.

Jetwing Yala offers several activities such as village walks and biking; bird trails in Bundala, Sithulpauwa, and Debarawewa.


Explore the jungles of Yala National Park – home to the greatest variety of Sri Lanka’s wildlife. With a total protected area of 126,768 hectares Yala has varying habitats which consist of scrub plains, jungles, rocky outcrops, fresh water lakes, rivers and beaches. Several species of animals inhabits these jungles including the sloth bear, herds of elephants, sambar, deer, crocodiles, numerous birds and leopard. Game drives are usually done at dawn around 6:00 am and in the afternoon around 3:30 pm when the wild animals come out to the waterholes and are more visible. Red Dot can arrange for a safari jeep to come directly to Jetwing Yala to get you to the park entrance by 6.00 a.m. or at 3.30 p.m. The safari can take up to three hours accompanied by a wildlife tracker. The ancient Kirinda temple, Tissamaharama with its ancient temples and reservoirs, and the jungle shrine of Kataragama can also be accessed from here.
